The birth was amazing….. My labour & birth was 2 hours 7 minutes! She was safely & calmly born at home in the birthing pool. I caught her & we cuddled within seconds of entering the world.

I spent the morning with Letitia at play group, it was a great place to be in early labour, lots of happy children, music, colour & fun activities…..a great distraction. Ed was in the meantime doing runs to the skip! He managed 3 trips! Then had a lovely lunch at home, put Letitia to bed…..& in her nap time I gave birth!

Ed & I practiced all our favorite hypnobirthing techniques. Ed was fantastic again to make sure I stayed relaxed, calm & concentrate on my deep breathing. I just made the it into the pool for the final stage. 8 minutes for the pushing. I did not need stitches & she was 9.2lbs! No drugs at all.

Within 2 hours we were sat in the lounge having steak & ale pie with a bottle of red wine! Candle lit, warm, relaxed & happy! It really felt like Christmas Day!

The Lanes midwives were amazing & said all the right things to reassure me during labour. I actually hardly knew they were there! They visit me daily for support & really helping me breast feed successfully! It’s fantastic!! I’m very lucky. It’s the future for this country.
