Description
Resonance Art: Imbolc
Spark · Emergence · Nourishment
On the eve of Imbolc, we’ll step into the woods at Ulverscroft Manor for a day of sound, nature, meditation and creative exploration.
Imbolc marks the first stirrings of spring – the gentle emergence of something that has been quietly forming beneath the surface. A spark. A beginning. A movement towards the light.
This Resonance Art day is an invitation to slow down and explore that sense of emergence through both sound and art.
Therapeutic sound, meditation and the natural environment will help create space away from the busy, analytical mind — loosening our habitual critical thinking and allowing a more intuitive, sensory way of experiencing and creating to emerge.
Alongside the sound and meditation practices, artist Anna Michalska will guide us into a creative exploration inspired by the season and the beautiful natural surroundings of Ulverscroft.
Together, we’ll reflect on the nature of emergence: the stirrings of something new, the patterns found in the landscape, the rhythms of nature and the quiet magic of stepping towards spring. You’ll create a unique piece of artwork as an appreciation of this energy – with the possibility of working in three dimensions.
We’re deliberately not going to tell you too much about what you’ll be making. Part of the magic is allowing the experience, the landscape, the season and your own creative response to shape what emerges.
Throughout the day, there will be:
- Meditation and mindful arrival, settling into yourself and the landscape
- Time in nature, noticing the woodland, its patterns, textures and seasonal changes
- Immersive therapeutic sound, using sound to shift attention away from habitual thought and into a more spacious, sensory state
- Creative practice with Anna, inspired by Imbolc, emergence and the natural environment
- Exploration of natural patterns and fractals, and the ways that repetition, rhythm and form appear in nature
- Time and space to create, without pressure to produce something “perfect”
- Lunch together, providing time to pause, nourish and connect
You don’t need to consider yourself an artist, nor do you need any particular creative experience.
This isn’t about producing technically accomplished artwork. It’s about becoming curious, noticing what stirs, and giving yourself the space to follow it.
Sound opens the space.
Nature provides the inspiration.
Art gives form to what emerges.
