baby Johannes arrived on wednesday.
He took his time and had us sharpening our arguments to resist a potential offered induction and trying out the range of encouragement techniques for getting him out naturally.
He finally chose a wonderful sunny day to get his labour going and allowed us the time to walk, shop for fruit at ridley rd market, have a thai lunch and a good invigorating snooze while contractions built up gently.
We finally headed for the hospital at 1am and when examined were 8cm dilated. 3 hours later Johannes arrived with the help of a wonderful midwife. He had a fully natural birth and we feel lucky and proud to have been able to deliver him in this way.
The calm and serenity that hypnobirthing helped us to develop and maintain throughout the pregnancy and birth made a big difference and we are grateful for it.
He is peaceful and chilled, is feeding well and has us all smitten with him.
