Tom and I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that our little boy, Gabriel William, arrived safely on the evening of Monday 19th January.

I had an amazing birth at the Barkantine (the last bit slightly hairy as there was meconium when my waters broke in the water pool – but managed to get him out, all on my own – NO pain relief at all!). The hypnobirthing really did it for me; as well as the breathing which Tom called my bubble breathing (not sure where I learnt that!). Both Tom and I were in such a good place throughout and you really gave us all the skills to have the birth we wanted, even when things challenged us at the last minute and we had to accept that the cord needed to be cut quickly and I needed to have the placenta injection. I can’t thank you enough and have sung your praises ever since your course and after the birth. 

I also got my placenta made into pills and so I am taking them every day. The lovely midwife at the Barkantine who made the pills for me said that the cord was already empty and that Gabriel had got the blood which was reassuring. You really opened our eyes to a new approach to birth and gave us real confidence and for that I am eternally grateful. 

Gabriel was a healthy 8pounds 1 oz and is doing really well. He’s feeding brilliantly and is a very chilled out babe. We hope to be able to introduce him to you soon. Love and thanks by the bucket load. Kate and Tom X
