“Dear friends,

It is with great joy that we announce Esme Adelaide Lily was born in water at home at 12.40am on Thursday 4th March 2010. (This just happened to be the same day the Birds Eye View Film Festival 2010 opened – Rachel was feeling particularly productive). Esme (pronounced Es-mee, not Es-may) weighed in at 8lb7oz and is very long, with lots of hair, and big lips. No surprises there.

We are grateful for a complication-free birth, from which Rachel has recovered amazingly, and are doing really well so far. We get more gooey by the hour. “

I hope to have a full birth story for you once the three of them have settled in. It’s so fabulous to hear of a couple who stuck to their guns (14 days “overdue”) to achieve the birth they wanted and deserve. I’m proud to have met and shared the HypnoBirthing techniques with them.
