next morning walked calmly into theatre with the doula and little baby was born and it was calm and lovely.
Good news, baby Clodagh arrived on Wednesday 29th at 10.25 in the morning weighing 3.45kg. She is a very calm baby and sleeps and eats tons. I enjoy just staring at her!
The birth wasn’t the vision I had; I went in for the induction on the Monday at 40 plus 4. They said actually dialapan rods not suitable for first birth and gave me propess so then I couldn’t go home. Nothing happened with that apart from tons of pain. Then next day baby’s heart rate was up for 3 hours so they monitored that before giving me another propess and tons of pain. I spoke to the doula that night who told me to insist on an exam which was refused “we don’t do that in case of infection” but I insisted to find the cervix too high up to reach and the propess fallen out.
By this stage I has to fight to see the doctor who then offered me the rods!!!!!! I said no more. Cesarean. “Well you’ll have to wait as you’re not an emergency”. “Yes whatever”.
So next morning walked calmly into theatre with the doula and little baby was born and it was calm and lovely.
Lots of good bad and ugly with the nhs. I’m gladI said no to induction at 37 weeks and next time I would just go home!
But here she is and she is fabulous and thank you so much for the hypnosis course. Everyone comments on how she is the calmest baby they have ever met and that is definitely down to the support I had in pregnancy.
