I’m a grafter. Always have been. But I often would work harder than anyone else only to feel like I was not being appreciated or that the rewards were not coming fast enough.
This is when I’d nail myself up on a cross and resent how much energy and effort I was putting into things when it seemed others weren’t.
I wanted to be the best, to do my best. One of the challenges is that I get so wrapped up in my own thinking and fixated on the outcome that I don’t enjoy the process. We often want it so badly that we ruin it before it even begins. Overthinking, fantasising, worrying, expecting, doubting. All because we don’t let it naturally evolve and be there in the joy of the doing.
Then I heard an expression that changed me:
Rather than thinking about what you HAVE to do, consider what you GET to do.
Bam! Game changer…
Again, it’s not what you do but how you approach it and how you allow yourself to experience it.
Live in it.
Trust that you’ll do your best.
Find the joy. Find the joy. Find the joy.
Today I invite you to find the joy in your day. Tell me about it….share the joy.
