Hope you are well and enjoying this gorgeous weather.

I have been meaning to email you for absolutely ages to introduce you to our lovely little daughter Isabella Rose Connolly, born Sunday 27th May. She is cute as a button and has cheeks that you could kiss all day 🙂

After eating lots of pineapple, hot curries, drinking the raspberry leaf tea, acupuncture and reflexology she finally arrived into the world a week and a half overdue. She is amazing and Rory and I are over the moon.

I wanted to thank you and let you know that the hypnobirthing really helped us with Isabella’s birth. By the time we got to hospital I was 10 cm dilated and I think that is due to being calm at home (well trying to be!) Rory was amazing at keeping me focused, in ‘the zone’ and reassuring me. He was really wonderful! I think I laboured at home for about 10 hours. He put Marie Mongan on the iPod as we wizzed to the hospital and it helped tremendously. I managed to get into a really good ‘place’ as I was so used to listening to the CD as I dropped off to sleep most nights.

It was almost a natural birth, I was pushing immediatly in the pool when we arrived at UCH but in the end Isabella was delivered by ventouse. My surges slowed down after 3 hrs of pushing, Rory thinks I was just worn out after a full day of surging. I had to have the syntocinon drip in the end to bring on the surges and asked for an epidural as I was completely worn out.

Attached are a few little pics of Isabella. She is 8 weeks old today, it has been an intense few weeks but somehow it still feels like the time seems to have flown by. We are over the moon, she is such a little sweatheart.
