After two weeks of hearing from women having to deal with emotional blackmail, attempted coercion through unfounded statements I am TOTALLY echoing these sentiments from @rebelheartbirth

It has lead to the dismissal of women’s emotional well-being. It has lead to Midwives losing autonomy and the ability to support women as unique individuals. That age was about factory birthing. .

The new age of the Birth Rebel is upon us. This new age is one of women standing up for themselves and their choices. This new age is one where women inform themselves and rock the boat. No longer will we play the meek and passive patient. WE ARE POWER EMBODIED AND YOU WILL HEAR US ROAR. .

Question the status quo. Question research. Question policy that can not possibly see you as a unique individual. Question a system that induces more than a quarter of births. Question where the power lies. Question why so few guidelines are based on good quality research. Question the idea that all that matters is a healthy baby. Question the image of childbirth portrayed in the media. Question misogyny. Question the language used when "helping” a woman make a decision. Question whether your choice is truly informed. Question why the risks of homebirth are megaphoned yet the risks of hospital birth are never mentioned. Question flippant remarks that sow seeds of doubt. Question where the power lies. Question anything you are told you are not allowed to do. Question decisions that are not in line with The Human Rights Act. Question the practices that are just routine now. Question policies that treat everyone as a disaster happening. Question that which makes you scared to speak. Question anything that silences you through fear.
