This coming week begins with a couple of days back in London. Old friends, theatre and wandering the neighbourhoods I called home for 23 years.

Then it’s back to the Midlands, returning to a life that has expanded my horizons in ways I could never have imagined when I first left London.

And what a week awaits.

I’ll be sharing therapeutic sound with residents living with advanced dementia in a care home, offering a sound journey at a cancer support centre, and then finishing the week at a primary school for Hello Yellow Day, bringing sound to every child from EYFS to Year 6.

From the very youngest to those in their 90s.

Different generations, different experiences of life, different needs, and each finding their own way to connect with sound.

Sometimes that connection comes through stillness, sometimes curiosity, sometimes a smile, a movement, a moment of recognition or simply the opportunity to rest.

There is no right way to experience it.

And that’s part of the beauty.

What an immense privilege to be welcomed into these spaces and trusted to share something that can meet people exactly where they are.

When I left London at the end of 2019, I couldn’t have imagined all that this next chapter would hold.

A lovely reminder that sometimes expanding your horizons isn’t about going further afield. It’s about putting down roots, following what you love and seeing where life takes you.

Feeling very grateful for the journey. And for all the people I get to meet along the way.

💛

🍂 OCTOBER SOUND JOURNEYS 🍂

The season is turning.

As the evenings draw in and the landscape begins to let go, October offers an invitation to slow down, listen and turn a little more inward.

Here are the ways you can find some space with sound this month…

Swipe through ➡️

✨ SORREL SOUND · MOUNTSORREL ✨

Five years of monthly sound journeys at Mountsorrel Memorial Centre - and this beautiful little community continues to grow.

Come and lie down, listen and let the sound carry you somewhere quieter for a while.

Tuesday 20 October
📍 @mmc_venue Mountsorrel Memorial Centre
🕕 6pm & 8pm

A space to pause, settle and reconnect as we move deeper into autumn.

🍂 Booking via the link in my bio.

🌕 HUNTER’S FULL MOON SOUND 🌕

October’s full moon brings us into the heart of autumn - a beautiful time to gather, listen and honour the changing season.

Join me at Waltham on the Wolds for an evening sound journey beneath the Hunter’s Moon.

Sunday 25 October
📍 Waltham on the Wolds Village Hall
🕖 7pm–8.30pm

A little time to release, reflect and reconnect before the darker half of the year deepens.

🌕 Booking via the link in my bio.

I’ve had a space open up for 1:1 Integral Sound Healing at Cycles of Change on
Friday 30 October at 3pm

These sessions are very different from a group sound journey.

They offer a quieter, more personal space to explore what you need right now, weaving together therapeutic sound, mindfulness, intuitive listening and deeply restorative practices.

If you’ve been thinking about trying a 1:1 session, this is the only October space currently available.

EQUINOX SOUND JOURNEYS | MOUNTSORREL

Last night, as we gathered for our September sound journeys at Mountsorrel Memorial Centre, it was already getting dark outside.

And somehow, that felt just right.

The Equinox invites us into that beautiful space between light and dark, ebb and flow, receiving and releasing. A natural pause point. A moment to acknowledge the changing season and perhaps ask ourselves: what am I ready to let go of, and what do I want to make space for?

And there was definitely a sense tonight that people had arrived needing that pause.

More than one person arrived saying:
“I SO need this.”

September can be tiring. The shift back into routines, darker evenings, changing light, a busy final stretch of the year… sometimes the body simply asks us to stop.

For 90 minutes, that’s what we did.

We settled. We listened. We breathed. We were immersed in sound.
A little sonic alchemy ✨

And one of my favourite things about these evenings is watching people as they leave. They can look completely different from the people who walked through the door 90 minutes earlier — softer somehow, quieter, more spacious. Not because anything has been fixed, but because they’ve had the chance to stop doing and simply be.

And tonight felt particularly special because it marks FIVE YEARS of monthly sound journeys at Mountsorrel Memorial Centre.

Five years of gongs, bowls, silence, breath, candlelight, changing seasons, full moons, tired faces, deep exhalations, laughter, tears, and those beautiful moments when a room full of people simply becomes still.

I’m so grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey.

And we’re not stopping…

This month marks five years since I began holding monthly sound baths at Mountsorrel Memorial Centre. 💛

Over those five years, some people have come once, some return now and then when they need it, and others have made these evenings part of the regular rhythm of how they look after themselves.

I recently asked some of my regular sound bathers what keeps bringing them back, and Marianne sent me this:

“Juggling a demanding full time job and bringing up two young children with no time for rest and relaxation left me feeling extremely stressed and exhausted. Then perimenopause hit and I was really struggling to cope.

I had heard about the benefits of sound baths and a Google search led me to Kat’s Berry & Bloom website, and I am so glad it did! I booked onto the next sound bath and loved it so much that I knew I had to go every month.

That was almost two years ago and it’s now a non-negotiable couple of hours of self-care and relaxation time for me every month.

The sound baths have really helped me feel less stressed, more relaxed overall and my sleep has improved.

To anyone thinking about coming along to a sound bath, I highly recommend you do. Kat is so warm and welcoming and there is always a very relaxed and friendly vibe. It’s such a lovely experience every time, getting cosy and comfortable, breathing deeply and slowly, and relaxing into the soothing atmosphere and sounds.

I feel completely grounded, calm and relaxed every time. I’m so chilled, I feel like I float home!”

— Marianne

Messages like this mean such a lot.

When I started these sessions five years ago, I wanted to create somewhere people could simply arrive as they are, get comfortable, stop doing for a while and allow themselves to rest.

And perhaps that is what I’m most proud of five years on: that for so many people, these evenings have become a regular little pause in the month.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me enough to lie down, close their eyes and come along for the ride over the years. Whether you’ve been coming since the beginning or you haven’t tried a sound bath yet, you are very welcome. 💛

✨ ONE WEEK TO GO — NIDRA SOUND ✨

Yoga Nidra + Live Therapeutic Sound

A week today, Emma Ansell and I will be back at beautiful Gaddesby Village Hall, weaving together guided Yoga Nidra and live therapeutic sound.

If you’ve been feeling tired, stretched, overstimulated or simply in need of some properly restful time, this evening is an invitation to stop doing and allow yourself to be held by the practice.

Yoga Nidra isn’t a physical form of yoga. There are no postures, stretching or movement sequences. You’ll be lying down comfortably while Emma gently guides you through awareness of the body, breath, sensations and imagery—towards that quiet threshold between waking and sleep.

Around and through the Nidra, I’ll create a live therapeutic soundscape of tone, vibration, spaciousness and silence. The two practices meet beautifully, supporting deep rest, listening and letting go.

Gaddesby Village Hall is warm, comfortable and acoustically wonderful—the sound really does seem to wrap itself around you there.

No previous experience of Yoga Nidra, meditation, yoga or sound baths is needed. Bring what you need to get cosy, lie down and let us guide you.

This year marks four years since Emma and I first brought these two practices together, and we’d love to welcome you next Monday. 💛

Last night was our final Sunday Sunset Sound at Waltham for this year.

Not because we won’t be gathering there again - we’ve been meeting in this beautiful space every month for nearly four years, and we’ll be back again on 25 October.

But the light is changing now.

The sun is setting earlier.
The evenings are drawing in.
The energy is beginning to turn inward.

Just before everyone arrived last night, the sky gave us one of those moments: a glorious sunset, in conjunction with the moon rising, as we prepared to settle into sound.

There is something particularly special about Sunday evening sound journeys.

A pause at the threshold of a new week. A chance to soften, exhale and let the nervous system settle before Monday arrives.

And Waltham has its own kind of magic for this.
The quiet.
The stillness.
The darkness gathering outside.
The sounds of nature around us.

And, last night, one perfectly timed cow offering a very definite moo of appreciation just as the final sound disappeared into silence.

Honestly, you couldn’t script it.

Thank you to everyone who came and shared the space.

Next Waltham Sunday Sound:
Sunday 25 October

The sunsets may be earlier now, but perhaps that is part of the invitation.
To turn inward.
To rest.
To listen.
