🍂 A little space to pause as autumn settles in…

As the evenings draw darker and the natural world begins to slow, perhaps it’s time to follow its lead.

Next Tuesday I’ll be back at Mountsorrel @mmc_venue for two 90-minute sound journeys.

An invitation to lie down, get cosy and let the rich sounds and vibrations of gongs, singing bowls, chimes and gentle percussion carry you somewhere else for a while.

No expectations. Nothing to achieve. Just time and space for yourself.

✨ Tuesday 20 October
🕕 6pm & 8pm (90 minutes each)
📍 Mountsorrel Memorial Centre

Whether you’re a regular or joining us for the first time, you’re very welcome.

🍂 Book via the link in my bio / stories or at berryandbloom.com

💛 Hello Yellow Day at Thrussington Primary School 💛

What a joy to return to Thrussington Primary School last week for my third year of sharing therapeutic sound as part of Hello Yellow Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of children’s mental health and wellbeing.

There was something particularly lovely about seeing the excitement of children who remembered the sound sessions from previous years, eager to return to the sound space and discover what we might explore together.

Across the afternoon, I shared sessions with every class, from the youngest children in EYFS through to Year 6, adapting the experiences to suit different ages and stages of development.

Through sound, curiosity, imagination and moments of stillness, we explored what happens when we really listen. Not just hearing the sounds around us, but giving them our attention, noticing how they change, how they fade, and what happens within us when we slow down.

So much of this learning happens naturally, without the children even realising it. Through playful exploration and direct experience, they’re developing awareness of their bodies, their feelings and their ability to pause and find a little calm.

There were moments of wonder, concentration, smiles and beautiful curiosity. And, of course, the joy of experiencing the vibrations and sounds of the instruments themselves.

It’s such a privilege to introduce these practices at a young age, offering children simple experiences they can draw upon as they grow.

A huge thank you to everyone at @thrussington_ce_primaryschool and @thrussington_primary_ptfa for welcoming me back, and to the wonderful children for their enthusiasm, openness and willingness to explore. Special thanks also to Anya from Year 6 who gave me a gorgeous bracelet in thanks…

💛 Small moments of listening can open up a whole world of noticing.

BENEATH THE HUNTER’S MOON | WALTHAM SOUND

On Sunday 25 October, as the clocks go back and the Hunter’s Moon rises, we’ll gather in Waltham on the Wolds for a very special evening of therapeutic sound.

Traditionally, the Hunter’s Moon marked a time of gathering, preparing and making provision for the winter ahead. As the natural world begins to draw its energy inward, perhaps there’s something we can learn from that too.

What do we need to nourish ourselves through the darker months? What are we ready to put down? And what might happen if we gave ourselves permission to slow down a little?

We’ll begin by grounding into the body before settling into of immersive therapeutic sound : gongs, singing bowls, gentle chimes, percussion and moments of stillness.

No expectations. Nothing to achieve. Just a warm, welcoming space to lie down, listen and let the sound carry you somewhere quieter for a while.

A little time to gather yourself as the seasons turn.

🌕 Sunday 25 October
📍 Waltham on the Wolds Village Hall
🕖 7pm–8.30pm
£22 per person

Bring your mat/duvet/ sleeping bag, blankets, cushions and anything that makes you feel wonderfully cosy.
I’d love to welcome you.

The Autumn Invitation: Turning Inward

There is a subtle shift happening around us.

The days are becoming shorter, the evenings are drawing in, and the natural world is beginning to slow its pace. Yet whilst nature adjusts to the changing season, we often continue moving through our days at exactly the same speed.

Autumn offers us a gentle invitation to pause.

To turn some of the attention we so readily give to the world around us back towards ourselves.

To notice how we’re feeling, to listen a little more closely to our bodies, and to become curious about what we might need.

Not to search for answers, fix anything or add another task to our already busy lives.

Simply to create a little space.

Our two October Mindfulness Drop-ins at Shuttlewood Clark will explore this seasonal transition through gentle guided meditation, mindful awareness and quiet reflection.

An opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself and discover what turning inward might mean for you this autumn.

Thursday 15 October — The Invitation to Turn Inward
Thursday 29 October — Listening Within

Each session can be enjoyed individually, with no previous mindfulness experience necessary.

Reserve your place via Shuttlewood Clark BookWhen system (link in bio/comments)

🍂 EMBODYING THE CYCLE | A final invitation

At the end of October, we begin a new journey around the Wheel of the Year, starting at Samhain.

Traditionally marking the end of one cycle and the beginning of another, Samhain invites us to slow down, turn inward and reflect. As Nature draws her energy back towards the earth, we too can begin to make space for rest, stillness and whatever might be quietly taking shape.

It feels like a beautiful place to begin.

Embodying the Cycle is an online circle for women curious about living more cyclically, in greater alignment with Nature and their own changing rhythms.

Across eight gatherings throughout the year, we follow the seasonal turning points with meditation, creative audio journeys, reflection and conversation.

It’s not about adding more to your life. It’s about becoming more attentive to the rhythms already there.

Because perhaps we’re not supposed to feel the same in October as we do in June. Perhaps our energy, focus and capacity are meant to change with the seasons.

The women in this year’s circle have shared some lovely reflections about feeling more grounded, resilient, connected and trusting of themselves. Some are even choosing to travel around the Wheel again.

🍂 There are just a few places remaining for our new circle beginning at Samhain.

If you’ve been feeling curious, or something about this journey resonates with you, I’d love to welcome you.

This coming week begins with a couple of days back in London. Old friends, theatre and wandering the neighbourhoods I called home for 23 years.

Then it’s back to the Midlands, returning to a life that has expanded my horizons in ways I could never have imagined when I first left London.

And what a week awaits.

I’ll be sharing therapeutic sound with residents living with advanced dementia in a care home, offering a sound journey at a cancer support centre, and then finishing the week at a primary school for Hello Yellow Day, bringing sound to every child from EYFS to Year 6.

From the very youngest to those in their 90s.

Different generations, different experiences of life, different needs, and each finding their own way to connect with sound.

Sometimes that connection comes through stillness, sometimes curiosity, sometimes a smile, a movement, a moment of recognition or simply the opportunity to rest.

There is no right way to experience it.

And that’s part of the beauty.

What an immense privilege to be welcomed into these spaces and trusted to share something that can meet people exactly where they are.

When I left London at the end of 2019, I couldn’t have imagined all that this next chapter would hold.

A lovely reminder that sometimes expanding your horizons isn’t about going further afield. It’s about putting down roots, following what you love and seeing where life takes you.

Feeling very grateful for the journey. And for all the people I get to meet along the way.

💛
