Yule : Rebirth
£30.00
Gathering together to mark the hinges in the wheel of the year we recognise the rhythms of nature, the ebb and flow of energy and light both around us and within us. Weaving ceremony, ritual, sound and silence as a small circle of 13 we honour the rhythms of nature, as we honour the rhythm and cycles within ourselves.
Here at the Winter Solstice, we are in the darkest time of the year. Our instinct is often to retreat at this time and yet society is loud, bright and busy.
Our gathering offers an opportunity to be still, a chance to step away from the distractions and the noise so that we might embrace the darkness and gift ourselves the time to rest, to pause, to rest and re-nourish and tune into instinct and intuition.

Description
Yule (from the Norse Iul, meaning wheel) or the Winter solstice has been celebrated for millennia. We hang wreaths on our doors, symbolising the Wheel of the Year and its celebrations or Sabbats.
The Celts of the British Isles celebrated midwinter, fearing that the Sun might not return again, huge bonfires were built upon the hilltops (symbolising the Sun), to lend it light and energy so that it would return for another year. Even before this monuments marked the longest night – Stone Henge is famously aligned with the solstices and at Newgrange in Ireland the 5,000 year old passage tomb structure lights up with the rising sun on the winter solstice. It’s a celebration of the rebirth of the sun!
Today, at the Solstice, we are in the darkest time of the year.
Weaving ceremony, ritual, reflection, journalling, Sound and silence we gather as a small circle of 13 to honour this Sabbat.
